ACTA Laboratories Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ACTA Laboratories, Inc. ("ACTA," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit actalabs.com (the "Site"), request a quote, submit a sample, contact us, or otherwise interact with us. ACTA is a contract analytical and microbiology testing laboratory located at 27082 Burbank Street, Foothill Ranch, CA 92610-2508. If you have questions, contact us at info@actalabs.com or (949) 595-0641.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you complete a form on the Site (the Request a Quote form, the Test Request Form, or the New Customer Agreement) or communicate with us, we collect the information you submit. This may include your name, company, job title, email address, phone number, mailing address, and details about the samples and testing you are requesting. To sign our Test Request Form or Terms and Conditions electronically, we also record your typed signature, the date and time, and technical details described below as part of the signature record. Information you submit through forms on the Site may be processed by our service providers, including AI tools, to route and respond to your request.

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information through cookies and similar technologies, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, and how you interact with the Site.

Chat and AI assistant. The Site offers the ACTA Virtual Analyst, an AI assistant that answers questions about our testing services. The assistant shows a notice next to the message box, and nothing you type is sent until you send a message. By sending a message, you agree that the chat is recorded and shared as described here. When you use it, we record the conversation: what you type, the assistant's replies, the page you started from, and, if you arrive from one of our forms, the details you entered on that form (such as your name, company, contact details, and the testing you requested), which are sent with your first message. ACTA and our service providers, including our website developer and an AI provider that generates the assistant's replies, receive and store this information so we can answer your questions, route your request to our team, and follow up with you. Chat transcripts are sent to our team by email and are kept as described under Data retention. Please do not share medical, financial, or other sensitive information in the chat. The assistant can make mistakes and is not a substitute for review by an ACTA scientist.

Phone and text (call tracking). We use CallRail to track and route calls and text messages. When you call or text a number shown on the Site, CallRail may collect your phone number, the date, time, and duration of the call, and may record the call. Call recordings and related data help us respond to inquiries, train staff, and improve service.

Please note: calls to or from ACTA may be monitored or recorded. By calling a tracked number on the Site, you consent to the recording of that call. If you do not consent to being recorded, please tell us at the start of the call or contact us in writing instead.

Cookies and tracking technologies

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, analytics, and advertising. These include:

Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the Site; Google Ads, to measure the performance of our advertising and, in some cases, to show ACTA ads to you on other sites (remarketing); and CallRail, for call and text tracking. These providers may set their own cookies and receive information as described in their privacy policies.

Form submissions and conversion measurement. When you submit a form on the Site, we also send Google Ads a hashed (one-way encoded) version of the email address and phone number you entered. The hashing happens in your browser before the information leaves the Site, so these details are not transmitted in readable form. Google uses them only to match your inquiry to an earlier ad click, so that we can measure how our advertising performs. We do not send the content of your request, and information about samples, testing, methods, or results is never shared with advertising or analytics providers.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Site works.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to respond to your requests and provide quotes and testing services; to communicate with you about your inquiries, samples, and results; to operate, maintain, and improve the Site; to measure and improve our marketing and advertising; to detect and prevent fraud and abuse; and to comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We share information with service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as website hosting, analytics (Google), advertising (Google Ads), call tracking (CallRail), and AI tools, including the AI provider that powers our website chat assistant. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ACTA, our clients, or others. If ACTA is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, our use of advertising and analytics cookies (such as Google Ads and Google Analytics) may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law and some other state laws. You can opt out as described below.

Your advertising and analytics choices

You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on, and manage Google ad personalization in your Google Account ad settings. Many browsers and extensions support the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal; where required by law, we treat a GPC signal from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser and device.

Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, to provide our services, and to comply with our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations. Testing records and related data are retained in accordance with our Terms and Conditions and applicable regulatory requirements. Website chat transcripts are deleted automatically from our chat system 30 days after the conversation's last activity. Copies sent to our team by email are kept with our other business correspondence.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, and disclose; request deletion of your personal information; request correction of inaccurate personal information; opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; limit the use of sensitive personal information; and not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your rights.

The categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers (such as name, email, phone, IP address), commercial information (such as services requested), internet or network activity (such as browsing and interaction data), audio information (call recordings), electronic communications (chat transcripts), and professional information (such as company and job title).

To exercise your rights, email info@actalabs.com or call (949) 595-0641. We will verify your request by confirming information we already have about you. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, subject to verification. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Other U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of certain other states (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others) may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@actalabs.com. You may appeal a decision regarding your request by replying to our response.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for businesses and professional users and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

Third-party links

The Site may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be posted on this page.
